Tax Agent Services Act (TASA) Disclosures
As a registered tax agent, Smart Taxation Pty Ltd (trading as Smart With Tax) is required under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 and the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024 to make the following information available to current and prospective clients.

The TPB Public Register

If you have a complaint about our tax agent services, we encourage you to contact us first so we can resolve the matter promptly:

Contact us directly
Email your complaint to info@smartwithtax.com.au or call 0499 702 929. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.

Complain to the Tax Practitioners Board
If you are not satisfied with our response, or prefer to raise the matter independently, you may lodge a complaint with the TPB using its online complaints form at tpb.gov.au/complaints. The TPB will acknowledge your complaint and review it against its risk framework.
Prescribed Events — Statement
Under section 45 of the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024, we are required to advise current and prospective clients of certain prescribed events that have occurred in the last five years, and of any conditions attached to our registration.
We confirm that:
- no prescribed events under section 45 of the Determination have occurred in relation to our registration; and
- our registration as a tax agent is not subject to any conditions imposed by the Tax Practitioners Board.
Our Obligations to You
- Act honestly and with integrity, and comply with the taxation laws in the conduct of our own affairs
- Act lawfully in your best interests and manage any conflicts of interest
- Take reasonable care to ascertain your state of affairs and apply the taxation laws correctly
- Keep your information confidential unless we have a legal duty or your permission to disclose it
- Provide services competently and maintain the knowledge and skills relevant to the services we provide
- Not knowingly obstruct the proper administration of the taxation laws
- Advise you of your rights and obligations under the taxation laws that are materially related to the services we provide
- Maintain professional indemnity insurance that meets the TPB's requirements
Your Obligations as a Client
- Be truthful with the information you provide us
- Keep the records required by the taxation laws (generally for five years) and provide them to us on request
- Provide complete and accurate information in a timely manner so lodgement deadlines can be met
- Advise us of anything that may affect the services we provide, including changes to your circumstances
- Meet your tax obligations, including lodgement and payment due dates
- Not ask us to act unlawfully or to mislead the Commissioner of Taxation
